University – Business World Cooperation Meeting Held in Gaziantep

Within the framework of Bilgeİş Project, the fourth of University – Industry Cooperation Meetings which have been planned to be held in five pilot cities was held in Gaziantep at Divan Hotel on 25th July. Approximately 40 participants consisting of representatives of stakeholders, small and medium sized enterprises and project team attended the meeting.

Opening speech was made by Dr. Serkan Alkan, Member of Bilgeİş Operation Coordination Unit and Ms. Meltem Koca, Bilgeİş Project Team Leader.

Alkan gave information to participants about preparation stage of Bilgeİş Project and emphasised that they aim to support small and medium sized enterprises during digital transformation adaptation process within the scope of this project. He stated that number of 100 courses within the portal is to be periodically increased by taking needs of small and medium sized enterprises into consideration and that they will continue to support human resources of Turkey through universities.

On the other hand team leader Ms. Meltem Koca referred to courses prepared, trainings provided and activities regarding communication and promotion within the scope of Project. Ms. Koca thanked stakeholders in Gaziantep for their support indicating that number of registered individuals in Gaziantep is increasing day after day.

Mr. Nezih Kuleyin, President of Turkish Foundation for Small and Medium Business (TOSYOV) gave a presentation at the meeting providing information about establishment of TOSYOV and its operation and explained activities they have carried out in order to Support small and medium sized enterprises. By drawing attention to importance of technological adaptation of small and medium sized enterprises during Industry 4.0 process, Kuleyin stated that Bilgeİş training portal is a very good means of education for small and medium sized enterprises since it is free of charge and easily accessible.

Trainer Mr. Serdar Bilecen, who made a speech after Kuleyin, stressed importance of University-Business World cooperation. Giving examples across the world Mr. Bilecen expressed that portal is a good example of university – business world cooperation in Turkey.

After lunch, the activity was finalised.
